Anyone who has had a baby lately.... did they do his/her footprints at the hospital as a keepsake? We were told that they would, but they never did. We weren't sure if it was because he was in special care or what?!?! SO, we decided to try it ourselves....hahahaha! The only place that we could find washable, non toxic ink for this type of thing was Archiver's. We stopped at a variety of places to ask and no one had a such thing....we thought the hard part was over. Come to find out, putting your babies foot in ink and then having him cooperate while you try and stamp his foot on the paper was actually not as easy or as cute as it sounded! WOW! The feet we actually think turned out ok after much laughing! The hands.... well we won't actually even photo that!
It appears that one foot is bigger than the other. It just so happens that as we were stamping the first foot he decided to curl his toes and arch the foot.
Time for a bath to wash off the ink! He looks REAL thrilled!
After bath time which apparently was traumatic, he conked out on Dad's lap!
Closer look! Too funny!

We didn't get footprints either. I ended up using a blue stamp pad and we couldn't get it off his feet for a couple days!
With Peyton, no footprints, with Ashley they did right after the birth and it's on the hospital version of the birth certificate. Later, you can buy a Clay Keepsake version- it's much easier and cleaner.
We were sent home with a little sheet of inky paper & I wound up doing Maren's footprints into her baby book. (Like you, big joke) But it seems like lots of kids over here (that come from ANW) have had it done...
Yep, the hospital gave me footprints for both kids. Fairview Southdale. Nico's footprints turned out good. I understand about the hands! Jack is 2 1/2 and he is just starting to let me get hand prints! I found a cute kit at babies R Us that has a space for a photo and a clay like footprint. I think it was about $20. It turned out so cute that i did one for both kids.
Both of my kids were in special care too...so I don't know why you didn't get them. I forgot to tell you that the kit I mentioned, if you goof up or don't like the result you can reuse the clay stuff if it hasn't dried.
