One Week Down...No One Hurt!

WOW! It is hard to wrap our brains around the fact that we have been home with Nico for a full week now. It has been one large blur so far, but so much fun learning all we have. Many visitors, poopy diapers, lots of laundry, doctor appts, bath time, night feedings, lack of sleep and various other things have kept us super busy. Below are some random shots! Enjoy

What in the world are we watching in the background of this shot?!!?!

Meet the 'NEW' Italian Stallion!

Ladies and gentlemen, if your PC has speakers, please pump up the volume! Now, the moment you've all been waiting for! In this corner, standing 19 and 1/2 inches tall, and weighing in at 7lbs, 11oz...Nico Giovanni Morelli!!! And in the other corner...well, what does it matter? His mom and dad know it's all about him anyway! We are very excited to finally introduce Nico to all you bloggers out there. It's not that we have been procrastinating, it's that this little tike is lots of work and we haven't had a chance to sit down and do a blog post. All those other parents out there can hear me on that! (Wow, does that feel weird to say!!) Traci and I have not been able to get enough of him since we have been home. The camera has not stopped flashing as we watch his miniature personality take shape. He has a little smirk when he knows we have to change an exceptionally dirty diaper. We find he is also nocturnal, which does not bode well for my beauty rest. Nico is known as 'Busy Hands' Morelli around these parts as he does not like to sit still for very long, unless he is in mommy's lap. He rips out his pacifier because he knows he is just too mature to have one of THOSE baby things. He also likes to give his dad a hard time when it comes to the diaper changes. I have already been hit with all three ranged attacks (#1, #2, and #3...#3 is the ever elusive and sneaky burp attack). Kinda sounds like ordering off the McDonald's Value Menu, huh? What am I going to get today? These first few days have been quite the experience and we look forward to watching him grow up, hopefully bigger than his parents! We have many stories to tell, and many more that will happen soon enough, so please stay tuned! We've included a few shots from his first days with us, so please enjoy!

Daddy, please get me outta this hospital!!

Yeah, yeah, my first car ride...

Hey dad, can you get mom to color coordinate here?

It's about time you got this house warm enough for me!

Dad, you have no idea what I have brewing.

Yup, I'm a keeper!!

Nope, Not Yet!

No, unfortunately there is not much news to report on the baby front. On Sunday, Traci came down with the flu and she wasn't feeling the baby move. So, we went to the hospital around 8pm. She was dehydrated and the baby's heartbeat was elevated because Traci was sick. So, the nurse gave her an I.V. and TWO fluid bags later she was a little better. They also did an ultra sound to get three movements and two breath actions from the baby. After that, we were able to leave, though Traci didn't want to :) We got home around 11:30pm.

Dateline Monday morning: I wake up to get ready for work and Traci is feeling even worse. She was being stubborn and wouldn't let me call in to take her to Urgent Care to check on Bronchitis or possible pneumonia*. I went to work and asked bossman if I could get out after the first run because in this case I was NOT letting my wife tell me what to do! I went home around 11:30 to find Traci in the tub trying to slow down her contractions. Her midwife felt she was having them because she was sick. We timed her contractions for an hour to see if it was really time. They were sporadic, so we didn't get a good read on them. Let me say that it really sucks when your wife is in this horrible pain from time to time and there is absolutely NOTHING you can do to help except let her squeeze your hand to where it is close to breaking! She called the careline and the doctor suggested we come in to the hospital to see what's up. Upon further review, she was dilated to a 3+. The nurse thought we should try walking around for an hour to see if that would help. I grabbed a fantastic B-Day meal for myself at Mickey D's (#2, no onions, and a Mister Pibb!) and we walked the hospital. Traci was checked one more time around 9:30pm. No change. So, we were on our way home once again! I had to drive very carefully so I didn't hit any bumps while Traci was having contractions. I found this to be nearly impossible driving the streets of Uptown. I may have to send a letter! I must say that this was the most interesting Birthday I've ever had!

We find ourselves this Tuesday morning in the same shape. Traci feels the same (like hell, and more crabby, and defeated), and the contractions are still coming, but still randomly. No tears yet, but close. In fact she's having one while I'm typing this sentence. She just said "F-You" to the contraction. Glad it's not me she's yelling at! :) So that is where we are today, a little closer to the big day, but still a ways to go.

We thank you for all the calls and e-mails. Traci has been getting them via her cell, but has not turned on the PC since Saturday night. Can you imagine her not checking her celebrity gossip sites and other people's blogs for THREE DAYS!!! We promise when something substantial happens we will let you know. This child is very stubborn, much like my wife. Does that mean I'm getting a little girl??? Stay tuned!

BabyRazzi Just Made The List...

UPDATE- Looks like I wasn't the only one who disliked the post about Christina Aguilera.. she must have gotten lit up like a Christmas tree from readers because she erased the post!!! HA, ok I feel better now :) (but I still am boycotting)

Ok, must be a really bad week for me.. chalk up BabyRazzi to another addition to the "Boycott" list..

First of all, this post which was a few weeks ago really pissed me off- I tend to go with the phrase "everything in moderation is fine"... the comments by readers really irritated me knowing that there are really too many ignorant, judgemental people out there..

Then check out the last part of the post on the dogs in the picture with Christina Aguilera... thank goodness when I look at the other readers comments I am not the only one who thought this was a stupid thing to say. Who ever is the creator of this blog is an IDIOT!

Patience...never had much of it!

Warning- the following images may make you want to throw up in your mouth a little!

I have always been an impatient person, however normally I have been able to exude some sort of self control when I feel it coming on. Lately, however I can't hold back.. I am now boycotting Entertainment Tonight (add it to the list with Oprah and Dr. Phil), which is HUGE for me since I am a celebrity/gossip whoooore... but I swear to GAWD... if I see Donny or Marie Osmond one more time on that show I will BLOW. Also, who decided that the story on "Temptress, the morbidly obese teenager", who debuted on American Idol would be a good one to have on every single day for two weeks now? It is nauseating... So goodbye ET.. good bye Mary Hart, so long Kevin Frasier, adios Jann Carl, hope to see you soon Steve "Cojo" Cojocaru... I just can't stomach it anymore.
